Whitepath Men's Association 2023 Tournament Rules.
1. Tournaments will be played from the white, black or red tees, based on where your handicap is established. The 14 club rule is in effect.
2. Roll the ball in the fairway, down in the rough, including ditches. First infraction warning, second infraction DQ. If area is marked ground under repair, locate the closest point of relief, no closer to the hole, take one club length relief. No loss of stroke.
3. All golf balls deemed to be in play must be marked with the players, identification. Dots, lines, players, initials, etc.
4. Cart path relief - ball must be dropped within one club length from spot of relief. For relief, take stance, stay on closest side of path without standing on path, ground club and make drop within one club length of that spot. You're closest point of relief may be in the rough. Must stay on same side of card path where your ball came to rest.
5. Yardage/Cart Markers – Free relief- drop ball within one club length- no closer to the hole.
6. Putting- no gimmies- putt everything out!
7. All areas outside the mowed, rough areas will be played as a hazard. You may do one of of following if you hit your ball into one of these hazard areas:
- if you find your ball, you may play it as it lies- without any penalty stroke. You may move loose impediments, cut rocks, roots, etc., not the ball! If your ball is ON/AGAINST a rock, root, etc., you may move your ball within 1 club length after your playing partners have agreed to your ball's condition.
Or under penalty of one stroke you may do the following:
- Drop a ball within two club lengths of the spot where the original ball entered the hazard, no nearer the hole.
- Or, keep the point of entry into the hazard and the hole in a line and go back as far as you like.
- Or, Hit from the WMA designated drop are (if one is marked on that hole.
8. Triple bogey is the highest score that can be taken on any given hole.
9. You may hit two tee shots on the first hole only. If you elect to hit the second tee shot, you must play the second ball. The first tee shot is no longer in play.
10. Score Cards must be turned in immediately after you finish your round.
11. Scorecard Playoffs will start on hole 15 and then proceed to the next lowest handicap holes in this order: 15, 7, 10, 1, 14, 6, 18, 4, 16, 9, 12, 17, 8, 11, 2, 13, 5.
12. Sand traps will be played as the ball lies unless in a footprint then rake and drop - no closer to the hole. Reminder: you now drop the ball from the height of your knee.
WMA/Local Rules Apply. If you doubt, play a second ball and the tournament committee will make the final decision.
Dues to participate will be $10 per month. Dues collected will be used for increased payouts on the above indicated tournaments (May 5, June 10, July 29, August 12).
You must be a member of the WMA to participate in tournaments.
Entry fee is $25.00. Optional "Skins Game" fee of $5.00 per player.
Tournament fees for the WMA Championship to be determined by the WMA Committee.
WMA will attempt to pay out approximately 50% of the total participating purse.
Payouts will be for gross and net scores for all events. Amounts of payouts will be determined by the TC based on participation in the tournament.
Handicaps will be established by the handicap committee for each event.
